Peace

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”   Albert Einstein

When there is a death within our circle of life, it can be difficult to find peace.  Peace is the deep stillness within us, to which we can find retreat, as we ride the storm of grief.  Close your eyes, be still and practice connecting to it.  When you understand it is there, you will never lose it.

I wrote this poem a few weeks ago.  In sharing this, I hope you find deep peace.

Deep Understanding

 Do not weep for me

For I feel peace and freedom

I feel immense love which expands far beyond

I now understand everything

Do not weep for me

Rather, be still and breathe through your pain

See how my death has opened your mind

To see all the love, courage, and strength within you

  1. “See how my death has opened your mind
To see all the love, courage, and strength within you”

These two lines are a welcome awakening for me.
Thank you, Karen. Somehow you always just know.

  2. Wow, Karen. This is timely as I just lost a good friend recently and I’m still trying to wrap my mind around her loss. Trying to focus on all the gifts we shared and allow life to wash over me and come away stronger and better for it. Thanks for sharing this. ❤

    1. Im sorry for your loss Eliza. I think knowing that our loved ones or friends who have passed are at peace, helps us find peace too and the courage to move forward.

  3. Such a beautiful poem, like riding a beautiful crashing wave break and flow smoothly into show. “See how my death has opened your mind; To see all the love, courage, and strength within you” Powerful.

  4. Wonderful poem, Karen. Meaningful and comforting.
In Dante’s great work “The Divine Comedy,” he is escorted through hell, purgatory and heaven. Of the many profound insights found throughout its hundreds of pages, the one that best sums up the whole book is: “In His will is our peace.”
