Live your Truth

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”          Steve Maraboli

The most powerful experience in my life is to live my truth. To know that I am living what I value, and that I am doing the things that I love and believe in.

It wasn’t always this way.  Sometimes my self-confidence was low, and I allowed others to speak for me and influence my decisions. This finally changed when I stepped out into the unknown and into my power.

When I made my own decisions, I learned from my mistakes and learned to follow my intuition. It took time to connect to my inner truth.  It took courage to trust, I could create the life I wanted.

The story below from Paul Coelho, reminds us to always seek our own path and live our own truth.  It is important to be guided and supported along your journey, but at the end of the day, do what is right for you.

“Some disciples are always asking where the truth is,” said Maal-El. “So one day I decided to point in one direction, trying to show them how important it is to follow a path, and not just to think about it.

“Instead of looking in the direction I had pointed, the man who had asked the question started examining my finger, trying to find out where the truth was hidden.

“When people seek out a master, they should be looking for experiences which can help them avoid certain obstacles. But unfortunately, reality is different: they adopt the law of minimum effort, trying to find answers to everything.

“He who accepts, without question, the truths of his master, will never find his own path.”

  1. The picture goes so well with the quote. I love the enthusiasm in their faces. Happiness is living our truth. Nice post Karen.

  2. Thank you for the Coelho excerpt, his writings always speak to me as do yours! Yes, we hold are own power . . . it is easy for me to know this sitting here, it requires more effort when I engage with others. It is a practice I am still working on. 🙂

    1. I agree, it is easier said than done. We are all working on this, and I think we limit the potential of our power. Keep connecting! Im practising with you. 🙂

  3. Nice! Isn’t it ironic that kids are really good at owning their truth, then it is ‘taught’ out of them, whereupon in adulthood, they have to unlearn that and relearn their truth again. Wish it wasn’t so! 🙂

    1. I think a lot of people feel guilty about making themselves #1 Rommel. It is often seen as selfish, when in fact, it is the opposite. When I feel nurtured, I have enough energy for everyone around me. It makes sense. 🙂
