“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.” Steve Maraboli
The most powerful experience in my life is to live my truth. To know that I am living what I value, and that I am doing the things that I love and believe in.
It wasn’t always this way. Sometimes my self-confidence was low, and I allowed others to speak for me and influence my decisions. This finally changed when I stepped out into the unknown and into my power.
When I made my own decisions, I learned from my mistakes and learned to follow my intuition. It took time to connect to my inner truth. It took courage to trust, I could create the life I wanted.
The story below from Paul Coelho, reminds us to always seek our own path and live our own truth. It is important to be guided and supported along your journey, but at the end of the day, do what is right for you.
“Some disciples are always asking where the truth is,” said Maal-El. “So one day I decided to point in one direction, trying to show them how important it is to follow a path, and not just to think about it.
“Instead of looking in the direction I had pointed, the man who had asked the question started examining my finger, trying to find out where the truth was hidden.
“When people seek out a master, they should be looking for experiences which can help them avoid certain obstacles. But unfortunately, reality is different: they adopt the law of minimum effort, trying to find answers to everything.
“He who accepts, without question, the truths of his master, will never find his own path.”
Wonderful words of wisdom – thank you!
Thankyou Julie. I appreciate your comments.
Great stories supporting us on the path.
“I stepped out into the unknown and into my power.” will stay with me today 🙂
It’s good to connect to our power Val! To remember the warrior within me. Thankyou 🙂
The picture goes so well with the quote. I love the enthusiasm in their faces. Happiness is living our truth. Nice post Karen.
It is Mary. It is a practice to remember! Thankyou.
Thank you for the Coelho excerpt, his writings always speak to me as do yours! Yes, we hold are own power . . . it is easy for me to know this sitting here, it requires more effort when I engage with others. It is a practice I am still working on. 🙂
I agree, it is easier said than done. We are all working on this, and I think we limit the potential of our power. Keep connecting! Im practising with you. 🙂
Nice! Isn’t it ironic that kids are really good at owning their truth, then it is ‘taught’ out of them, whereupon in adulthood, they have to unlearn that and relearn their truth again. Wish it wasn’t so! 🙂
So true Eliza, great comment. Overtime we do forget our authentic true-self. The freedom to live our truth, really needs to be nurtured back in.
I wish it weren’t easier said than done! 😉
Ah yes, but the hard work results in a full and happy life! Thats worth it. 🙂
Feels so good when you step out in faith into your own power Karen! ❤
Diana xo
Yes, Im learning to do it more Diana! Thankyou 😉
So true! And important to take the leap.
Exactly! Lets jump together. 🙂
“To know that I am living what I value, and that I am doing the things that I love and believe in.”
That is an admirable life purpose.
It is a life purpose Elizabeth. Im always working on it! Thankyou, nice to have you here. 🙂
Karen,
So long as we think good thoughts and do good deeds in the course of our lives, the soul is nurished and strengthened. And that matters most.
-Alan
It does matter the most Alan. and lots of self-love and compassion for ourselves. 🙂
Sounds selfish, but ULTIMATELY, it should be you and you alone. Always look out for #1.
I think a lot of people feel guilty about making themselves #1 Rommel. It is often seen as selfish, when in fact, it is the opposite. When I feel nurtured, I have enough energy for everyone around me. It makes sense. 🙂
Trusting in that inner voice and revealing our true self can be scary but freeing Karen.
