The only way to make sense of change is to plunge into it, move with it and join the dance. – Alan W Watts

Man:  “What if we are wrong?”

Old Woman:  “Wrong about what?”

Man:  “All this ceremony, prayer, meditation, stillness.  What if at the end of it, all there is, is nothing?”

Old Woman:  “Then we still come out better people.”

Man:  “How?”

Old Woman:  “Can you think of a better way to live, than in gratitude? Can you think of a better way to be, than to be kind, loving, compassionate, respectful, courageous, truthful and forgiving?”

Man: “I couldn’t. I can’t. I continue.”

Embers – Richard Wagamese

  1. And this is exactly how it’s been the past few months.
Plunge into it, move with it, and dance. Difficult at the beginning of the day. Feels great by the end of it.

  2. Karen, A common sense post!
I’ve never seen a flower dance across the floor, nor a dog quote Shakespeare. Yet I’ve seen humans do both. We are capable and worthy of higher expectations. There is no sense in the wondering of nothing when we are the only creatures who awake each day with thought that it may be our last. What man can conceive he can achieve. That includes a something at the end rather than a nothing.
    -Alan

    1. There are many who suffer and believe there is nothing. It is a gift of grace to know these words of truth that you share Alan, and may we continue to share this with each other. Thank you 🙏🏻
