We have no right to ask when sorrow or pain comes, “Why did this happen to me?” Unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way.”
How often do I question my happiness or joy? When do I say, “Oh come on, enough with the joy already?” or “I hope this happiness leaves my life soon.” I feel pretty confident that most of us do not question life when it is going smoothly, but we certainly have a lot to say, when life doesn’t go to plan.
Life happens. No matter how we try to manage it, it has a force at times beyond logic or understanding. A good example of this by Dr Tsabary, “When we swim in the ocean, we allow the water to move our body. We don’t protest, “How dare this wave be so high, it should be low.” We accept, we have no dominion over the sea. Resisting or running from these waves does not stop them from coming.
And so it is with my life. It is not a series of good or bad events, but like the waves, it is always moving and changing. As I learn to embrace life as a wise guide and dare to surrender myself to it completely, I move in sync with its change and all its beauty.
