Receive every moment….

We have no right to ask when sorrow or pain comes, “Why did this happen to me?” Unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way.”

How often do I question my happiness or joy? When do I say, “Oh come on, enough with the joy already?” or “I hope this happiness leaves my life soon.”  I feel pretty confident that most of us do not question life when it is going smoothly, but we certainly have a lot to say, when life doesn’t go to plan.

Life happens.  No matter how we try to manage it, it has a force at times beyond logic or understanding.  A good example of this by Dr Tsabary, “When we swim in the ocean, we allow the water to move our body. We don’t protest, “How dare this wave be so high, it should be low.” We accept, we have no dominion over the sea.  Resisting or running from these waves does not stop them from coming.

And so it is with my life. It is not a series of good or bad events, but like the waves, it is always moving and changing. As I learn to embrace life as a wise guide and dare to surrender myself to it completely, I move in sync with its change and all its beauty.

  1. Yes. Well states Karen. Reminds me of:
    You just go on
You go on. You just go on. There’s nothing more to it, and there’s no trick to make it easier. You just go on.”
“And what do you find on the other side? When you go on?”
“Your life again. What else?”
“Is that a promise?”
“It’s an inevitability. No trick. No choice. You just go on.”

  2. Right when I started your post I had this feeling of how I’d love to be diving right into this wave ~ or riding it for all it was worth if I could surf ~ and then when I got to the end of your post, I understood perfectly 🙂

      1. So true 🙂 With all of the twists and turns that go into just a normal day, if you practice to “move in sync with its change and all its beauty” ~ your a step ahead in enjoying the life that is out there. Cheers to a great day Karen…

  3. Very good Karen. The ups and downs of life, if we are honest, will even out. It seems uneven because we take the joys of life for granted, thereby, making the sorrows appear more numerous. One who often experience a seeming uninterrupted good life may appeal to God: “Lord don’t you trust me with a trial?”

  4. Man! I am so tired of all this freaking happiness!! Haha! This is so great! Great perspective Karen. Thanks!❤️
