Moving through change

If you realize that all things change, there is nothing that you will try to hold on to.  If you are not afraid of dying, there is nothing you cannot achieve.   –   Lao Tzu

Nature is my teacher.  The Tao below reminds me to watch and learn how nature responds when it’s under stress or change. Nature doesn’t make long speeches. A whirlwind doesn’t stay for long.  A cloudburst doesn’t last all day.  No matter what I am going through or feeling, there will always be change.  Nothing stays the same, and if nature can move through anything, so can I.

Express yourself completely

then keep quiet.
Be like the forces of nature:
when it blows, there is only wind;
when it rains, there is only rain;
when the clouds pass, the sun shines through.

If you open yourself to the Tao,
you are at one with the Tao
and you can embody it completely.
If you open yourself to insight,
you are at one with insight
and you can use it completely.
If you open yourself to loss,
you are at one with loss
and you can accept it completely.

Open yourself to the Tao,
then trust your natural responses;
and everything will fall into place

  1. Wonderful thoughts here. Its something that comes with age and experience if we are tuned in. Although I see people older than me who are not open to the ebb and flow of life. We are all so different Karen. I resonate with these words and thank you for sharing them. Its a great way to start my week. Have a fantastic week Karen.
