There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
— C.S. Lewis
I was reading it can take a snake up to two weeks to shed its skin, and then there is a pre-shed process and a post-shed process as well.
It reminded me how often I have been challenged to let go of the past and my old ways of being, and how impatient I have been throughout this process.
Just like the snake who sheds its skin several times a year, we too are constantly asked to shed what no longer serves us, whether it’s a habit, belief, or destructive thought patterns, and although this takes time, the more we allow this to happen, the more room we create to reveal our true nature.
Living in alignment with our truth and authenticity isn’t easy, however, when we remember it is through our suffering that we have an opportunity to change our old stories and limitations and in turn, this gives us new ways to move through life, the freedom to shine, and to let our soul pull us towards the next step!
‘We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. ‘ – Aristotle
Always changing our skins in our many adventures Karen. This world, hard though it is sometimes, wants us to complete this journey and become something wonderful from those changes.🤗❤️🙏
Sorry Karen, couldn’t finish my comment. Computer doing some weird things 🤗 Anyway, a great post kind lady and well written 🤗❤️🙏
Thank you 🤩
I agree. When we are open to change and move in new directions, we truly can have a full life. Thank you Mark 🙏🏻🌿🌈
A inspiring post Karen reminding us of remaining authentic in our truth and consistently resilient in our behaviour and pursuit of excellence. The school of suffering and challenges is always a difficult part of life yet so vital to our character development and proving and testing our integrity.
Thank you Ashley. You have summarised this post perfectly and I appreciate your comment.
🙏🏻🌿
Letting go. Creating space. Growing. Learning. Feeling it and allowing it all. A lovely reminder Karen. Thank you 💐🙏🏻💖
Thank you Val! Our life is an ongoing shedding of the old!

I’m still working on this, Karen. 💙
So am I Jennifer!! But I’m learning to allow it more easily with practice. Thank you 💕🥰💞
It takes time but it’s worth it. 💕
Absolutely worth it! 👏
This is the Perfect message for now! I feel this so truly. Making peace with releasing… shedding skins that hold me back from an entirely new becoming at a new level of coherence. Thank you, Karen! 💗
Absolutely Ka! It’s the same for me. ‘Making peace with all that arises!’That is indeed the answer. Thank you 💕🩵💞
I love the idea that change is a process, not a one-and-done thing. It allows us to be more gentle with ourselves! 💕
Such an important point you make Eliza. To be kind to ourselves as we move through this journey of shedding, expanding and learning. 🥰🌈💞
I guess I am in the process of shedding maybe that is why I feel so tired. I am working to give myself grace in this process.
Thanks for always sending out good vibes.
It is tiring! and we need to be gentle and patient as we allow the old to leave. Thank you Ali for being here 🥰🌿💞
Yes, I agree. It’s so important to keep moving forward and let the past be just that “the past.”
Exactly Michele. I wish it was easy. But the letting go and the shedding, is the answer for our freedom. 🙏🏻💞🩵
What a beautifully written post, Karen. It’s a reminder that transformation takes time and patience… often, the things I do not have 🙃. Letting go of he past, shedding old beliefs and habits, is so tough, but it is amazing how doing so can make life so much easier. Thank you, Karen, and wishing you well.
No one finds it easy to let go! And yet, we know it leads to our freedom, as you say. Thank you Randall, I always appreciate your kind words.
