Gratefulness for what is there, is one of the most powerful tools for creating what is not yet there. What does gratefulness mean? It means you appreciate what is. You value, you give attention to, you honor whatever is here in this moment.Β Eckhart Tolle
Because we live in a world that teaches us we are never enough and will never have enough of anything, then it takes a mindful practice, to focus on gratitude.
So here’s a question for us.
“What if tomorrow you woke up with only the things you have been grateful for?”
It’s a challenging question and considering how many people in the world don’t think they have enough, some of us might wake up to nothing or, some of us may wake up to everything.
Becoming aware of our thoughts and focus each day, can show us where we are not being grateful for what we do have and to remember, “There’s always something to be grateful for.”
Good point Karen, we need to remember this π
Thankyou Irene π
That is just whated I needed to hear today. Thank you Karen β€οΈ

In the Western world it almost might be difficult to answer this question without giving it deep thought.
We have so much in our lives to be thankful for.
For me, the answer comes quickly. Health
I agree Eddie. Health and my beautiful family. Thankyou ππ»

Thankyou Carrie. Have a great day πππ»
Great post, as always, Karen. Which prompts the following thought.
By the very act of waking up in the morning we do wake up to one thing, that we are alive. That gift of life was granted by a God who loved us into existence through our parents. And as we are grateful to receive any gift; how grateful must one be to wake up each day with the opportunity to make this day better than the one before? By using this gift well in this way, we honor and please the One who gave it to us.
-Alan
Amen. Thankyou Alan that’s beautiful ππ»
Very important post and advice. It seems some of the best days I have are when I do wake up and think of the question of what I am grateful for, although I admit I don’t do it often enough. I think it would also be a great way to end a day as well so I will be sure to do it tonight π Take care Karen.
Nice to hear from you Randall. π I agree, it is a daily practice and it always shifts my perspective. Thanks ππ»

Very good, very soothing piece of philosophy, I enjoyed the read so I am going to reblog this article for you.
Thankyou ππ»
Reblogged this on Truth Troubles.
And you can’t be depressed, anxious or angry when you’re grateful! It leaves no room:).
Absolutely the truth! ππ
I am grateful to be alive…. and I have my loved ones around me. I am abled, am well, am breathing and I can spend my day with my loved ones too.
Thank you for reminding and sharing.
Beautiful reflection of gratitude! ππ»
The notion of waking up with only what we have been grateful for could certainly change some people’s thoughts, ideas, and actions. Thinking of some of our political leaders in this world specifically! I love this notion. Gratitude. I read this quote today: “The trick, it seems, is to be able to hold both things very close β the gratitude and the misery β and then, with a semblance of faith, to let them fly.” ~ Elizabeth Aquino
Beautiful quote! Thankyou for sharing. πAnd I agree, if this thought applied to the leaders who support separation and war, it may wake them up! ππ»
Karen thats an interesting thought, I guess it would be the simple things for me, like a beautiful sunrise, happy kids and a smiling husband. Also health which we take for granted until we are challenged by it.
Beautiful thoughts of gratitude Kath !
