Sunrise

There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope.  – B Williams

When we were staying in the mountains last weekend, I saw the most amazing sunrise each morning.  I was in awe of its beauty and the colors it created in the sky.  I realised this miracle happens everyday, no matter what is happening in my life.

With the many changes that take place over our lifetime we can be certain of a few things; that the sun will rise and will set each day and as it greets us each morning, we can choose how we act, think and speak.  We can choose to begin each day with positive energy and to be present in everything we do.

“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes, (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).”  James Baraz

Make time to watch the miracle of a sunrise and remind yourself to be present to “what is” in your life.  Remind yourself that like the sunrise, this too will pass, and tomorrow is always a new day.

  1. This is a beautiful sunrise! I’m putting it in my sunrise and set gallery with others from world-wide blogger friends. Credit to Healing Your Grief. If you object please let me know and I’ll remove it. Christine

    1. Thankyou Christine. I just uploaded two photos of the beautiful sunrise on the post but the one up the top is not mine. You are free to take either. I appreciate your kind comment 🙂 Karen

  2. For me, savoring each moment and taking it as ‘it is’ is a practice that gets easier to do over time. I still may wander off the path, but it doesn’t take as long for me to realize I’m off and to find my way back again. When I read your J.B quote, I thought of these quotes: “This, too, shall pass.” and Eckhard Tolle’s “All structures are unstable.” They all point the way to living well with a minimum of self-imposed suffering. ❤

  3. Agree, I think you describe the magic of a sunrise so perfectly here. Each day deserves to start with hope, remembrance and then the goal to make this day special and great in its own little way, especially for those difficult days. Thank you for this post.

    1. Thanks Randall. I often find that wonderful comments such as yours, interpret a clearer understanding of my post! Enjoy the magic of the sunrise this weekend.

  4. Karen love the pictures and we had a pink sky tonight almost the colour of fairy floss on blue sky. I started the day with a beautiful deer standing in the fog. I smile and give thanks for living in the moments, no matter how small.

  5. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! Just like Benjamin “Coach” Wade said, “At the dawn of every morning, hope springs eternal.” I once felt that so …. Whenever I’m at my lowest, I always think of waking up the next morning and see another hope-filled better day.

  6. Very helpful posts, Healing Grief, written in a simple and eligible way !☺
Although I’m aware of all these, I quite needed a reminder this morning!🌞 It did me good! 👍Thank you! 🌼
