“It takes courage, to endure the sharp pains of self-discovery, rather than choose to take the dull pain of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives.” Marianne Williamson
“Who are you?”
It’s a question that can result in either the most basic of answers, to something more deep in meaning, such as our core values and beliefs, what we strive for, or where we are headed in life.
Life is fast and it often takes a mid-life crisis to wake us up and ask, “What do I want to do with the rest of my life?” Self-discovery isn’t simple or easy. It takes time to understand what we love, what we no longer need and how our unique authentic self can be shared and valued in the world.
It isn’t just about changing careers or moving house. Self-discovery starts when we journey within, moving us out of our comfort zone and begin to see our life through new eyes and an open heart.
“When you know yourself you are empowered. When you accept yourself you are invincible.” Tina Lifford
Good read✌
Thank you Amal 🌈🙏🏻
Isn’t this the truth: Life is fast and it often takes a mid-life crisis to wake us up and ask, “What do I want to do with the rest of my life?”
It is! And that’s why we need to answer the question before it’s too late. 🌈
A beautiful inspirational read Karen. It sure takes courage for discovering who we really are. Lovely post.
I agree Kamal. It’s a challenge but creates deep freedom in life! Thank you 💚💕
Getting out of our comfort zone…hmmm…second time in the last 24 hours I’ve read something about this theme. Must be a message for me that I was unaware of. Thank you, Karen. Lovely post. 💕☮️
The messages are our guides and help move us into freedom. Thank you Carrie. 💚
Indeed…so true. 💚☮️
Sure would like the sharp pains of self discovery than the dull pain of unconsciousness! ❤
Yes it is worth it!! Thanks Mary 🌈💕
Clarity on who we are and what we want to do with our lives is a beautiful and freeing thing. Yes, sometimes we do have to go through some trials and downtimes to get there but it’s the contrasts that help us get to that point. We can’t know what we want without knowing what we do want. I am grateful for experiencing both. The journey is so exciting!
Yes we need to experience both, to grow into our true potential. Thanks Larry 🙏🏻🌈
Oops. I messed up on my point. I meant to say “We can’t know what we want without knowing what we don’t want” I got a lesson in proof reading as well. lol
Ha! Life is one big lesson! 😀
A wonderful empowering post Karen.
Thank you for this especially-
“Self-discovery isn’t simple or easy. It takes time to understand what we love, what we no longer need and how our unique authentic self can be shared and valued in the world.”
Transformation takes time and inner work. Otherwise its just moving the furniture around and hoping for the best 😉
So true Val. The path to self-discovery is an ongoing process! Hope you had a lovely weekend 💚🌈💚
Thanks Karen. It was a nice weekend with an amazing brunch at our fav restaurant!
💕💚😀
Wonderful post, Karen. I’ve been doing lots of self-discovery lately…not easy, but worth it.
Always worth it! Thanks Helen 🌈💕
I almost wanted to laugh about how true this is! Then I thought, dear god… all that pain that I feel come and go…will come again…so thankful that something comes of it; all the pain sharp or dull, or endlessly aching… is not in vain! Happy day and blessings to you – appreciating these thoughts you shared here.
It is true, but I feel as I learn more and more about myself and my infinite potential, the less I struggle or are challenged in life. Wishing you a deep sense of freedom as you walk along this journey of self discovery Ka 🙏🏻💕💚
Oh I really hope the learning continues..as freedom is sweet .
💚 thank you for your inspiration here!
💚💕
Self-discovery is an ongoing process. I used to think it was somewhere I would arrive and finally have everything figured out, but no way. I finally realized it’s a continual journey that I’m enjoying being on.
Be where you are. So true Michele. It’s a continual process of movement. Thank you 💕🌈
In silence, an end of the day self-examination is most valuable. For we have an opportunity with the next dawn to purge ourselves of that which is detrimental and nurture that which beneficial.
