Who is your tribe?

Image result for pictures of tribes

Be around the light bringers, the magic makers, the world shifters, the game shakers.  They challenge you, break you open, uplift you and expand you.  They don’t let you play small with your life.  These heartbeats are your people.  These people are your tribe.  –  Danna Faulds

When I think about the people who have changed my life, they were not people who agreed with everything I said or thought.  They accepted me as I was, but didn’t let me play small in life and challenged my truth.  They revealed the mirror of my life and in the right time, they lovingly expanded my limiting beliefs.

These are the people I want to surround myself with, these are the people who remind me there is always more to understand, more to love and more to see in this beautiful world.

Danna Faulds poem inspires us to connect with a tribe that encourages us to be the all of everything and not to run away from anything that we find.

Go in and in

Be the space between two cells

the vast, resounding silence in which spirit dwells

Be sugar dissolving on the tongue of life

Dive in and in

Be infinite, ecstatic truth

Be love conceived and born in unison.  Be exactly what you seek.

The Beloved, singing Yes, tasting Yes, embracing Yes, until there is only essence.

The all of everything expressing through you, as you go in and in and run away from nothing that you find.

  1. Interesting take on tribes. Caroline Myss speaks to them, has for years. I’ve found my tribe in the most unlikely places. They haven’t been those I’ve been initially attracted to, including my husband(!) But these friendships have lasted for many years. So I guess we’re weaving a tribal shawl of many, many different threads and hues! Aloha, Karen.

  2. Love everything about this, Karen. So important to be lovingly challenged. Like Sawsan, I’ve been blessed to find a portion of my tribe here on line–you, DK, Sawsan, Mimi, Val, Sandy and many others. So very grateful for all of you…

  3. Beautiful poem and inspires me to explore more of her works! Yes, we often grow from challenges, in fact, I would wager we can always and that the mundane is what keeps is stuck. Not always comfortable, but growth is a good thing! Happy weekend Karen!

    1. Your connection to the WordPress community is a tribe Nico. Your writing and poems you share are so important. And it’s true, at the end if the day we only have ourselves to be with. Thankyou 🙏🏻

  4. I love this one. I have always said I hope to find a partner in life who will lovingly challenge me–see through the filters I may not even know I have. And I will do the same for him. That sounds delicious:).
