What might have been…….

“There will always be a moment, a cusp, when the sum of gathered experience is worn down by the details of living.  We are never so wise as when we live in this moment.”

When I am living in the past or the future, I am living in a world of speculation.  Our truth, our wisdom, our peace lies only in this moment.

Be here now..

  1. I just had an argument with a coworker this morning during a meeting conference. When I was speaking about suggesting improvements and making adjustments on how we should do things at work, he kept bringing up the mistakes from the past. I was getting irritated because I was talking about things we can do to make things better, and he kept interrupting me. He was like – this thing is messed up because yaddi yaddi yadda, the reason this is broken is because yaddi yaddi yadda, and we are not making progress because yaddi yaddi yadda, and so on and so on.
I didn’t need to get the specifics, and I certainly didn’t want to hear excuses or blame. We can learn from our mistakes in the past. Yes, but at this point, this right now, we need action, not reaction. We cannot just dwell in the past. If we say we should learn from the past, well, we need to show that in the future.

    1. This is a great example Rommel of staying trapped in “what might have been.” We have to keep moving and letting go through life, in order to evolve and expand. Doing it any other way only keeps us small and unhappy! Thanks Rommel and have a good weekend. 🙏🏻
