Balance

Caring for our body, mind, and spirit is our greatest and grandest responsibility. It’s about listening to the needs of our soul and then honoring them.”  – Kristi Ling

When we have a to do list that never ends or have a busy mind that consumes our life, we can forget to nurture our feminine energy. Doing is easy, practising nurturing and listening requires an effort.

This week I was reminded again, to go within to nurture and listen.

How often do we take time to listen, breathe and tune into how our physical body feels? How often do we recognize and feel the feelings that arise within us throughout the day?  Taking time to nurture, re-connect and feel, is vital in balancing our energy.

Sit in a quiet place, close your eyes

Take some deep breaths in and slowly out

Feel you chest rise up with your inhale and exhale deeply, feel your body relax

Now tune in to your physical body. Are you holding any stress? what feels contracted or tight?   Breathe into those areas until you feel them relax and soften

Now tune into your heart chakra. How does this feel?  Do you feel heavy or light in this area?  Are there any emotions you are holding for yourself or someone else? Allow any feelings to be felt.  Breathe them out deeply into the earth until you feel they are released or it feels lighter in this area

Hold your right hand on your heart.  Breathe in deeply and allow gratitude into your heart. Be thankful for this time to be still, listen and nurture your body and spirit.

  1. holding my hand over my heart has always been comforting to me Karen. When I feel panicky or anxious and hold my hand over my heart I almost always feel better within seconds! ❤

  2. I do that too, Diana. And gratitude feels so good in the heart! Thanks Karen!
    Peace ❤

  3. Very good reminder Karen. I already received a video meditation in this morning, which made me start my day with a clearly mind. Send you my best thoughts 😀

  4. So glad I came to this today Karen. The need for balance is a theme right now 💕 thank you this lovely heart centered meditation and a reminder to connect to our heart. xo

  5. I realised today that I was once again stressing about not keeping up with other people’s blog so I am breathing easier now – ha! Thanks for this – you are gorgeous!

  6. Oh, sage advice, this:). But so hard to do, at least here in the States in a big city that never sleeps. There is so much guilt inherent in just being until we finally get it. Wonderful reminder from you!

  7. Oh, what a wonderful post, Karen! And so timely for me. I did the exercise and feel much more at peace already…still unwinding after the last month’s “home run” on my big project. Walking in the nature with Dylan helped me tremendously with the stress, and kept my physical condition in amazingly good shape. And he also sensed when my stress level was peaking, and came to cuddle and ask me to go to bed for the night, I’m so grateful for this little fellow. Now I will do the exercise again 🙂

    1. I’m so glad you have Dylan in your life! Animals always seem to tune in easily to us . I am glad you could feel connected after this practice. 🙏🏻

  8. It’s funny that I teach people to do this in a weekly group, but I so often forget to do it myself. Thanks for guiding me through that. It felt good. (I typed food first instead of good, so it’s like food for my soul.) 🙂

    1. It is like food for our soul JoAnna! I am so glad you felt good after this practice. You are their teacher, so it is important to practice the gift for them too. Have a wonderful day. 🙂
