Trust

The flower doesn’t dream of the bee.  It blossoms and the bee comes.  Mark Nepo

When we live with trust on our side, we can develop a strong internal belief that no matter what is happening in our life, everything will be okay.

This inner trust radiates from our center, out into the world. With trust, we can take responsibility for how we respond to things that show up in our life, allowing us to live from a place of inner power and strength.

Fear and wanting only to live in a place of security, prevent us from trusting in the unknown.  At times when I feel unsure of my future and the direction I am heading, I  allow fear and control in.

When I try to take control of a situation or want to know “how” or “when” it may happen, I find I create more obstacles. It’s only when I allow spirit and my intuition to guide me, that I receive what I need. Having faith, allows us to take the necessary risks required for us to grow and live an expansive life.

Learning to feel and accept the uncomfortable place of not knowing, is the first step. The more I believe that life has a perfect timing for everything, the less energy I use on wondering how, why and when.

It is not an easy task.  It is a practice.  The more we practice, the more confident we become and allow the miracles of life to unfold.

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”   C JoyBell C

  1. Thank you Karen – this rings very true for me and loved ones today. Your thoughts are perfect to read, especially “Learning to feel and accept the uncomfortable place of not knowing, is the first step. The more I believe that life has a perfect timing for everything, the less energy I use on wondering how, why and when.”

  2. Karen, so beautifully written. Your words “fear and wanting only to live in a place of security, prevent us from trusting in the unknown” resonate with me. The unknown is the place we need to be at peace with and yet it so often creates uncomfortableness within. This is where the work and the magic happen! 🙂

  3. Beautiful post, Karen. Fear is destructive, control is a delusion as we can never control how things ultimately turn out. Trust is a beautiful place to be in, but there’s some work involved, as you say, to get and remain there.

  4. “When I try to take control of a situation or want to know “how” or “when” it may happen, I find I create more obstacles.”
This is so true! I’ve fallen into this pattern and realize it’s based on fear- but, as you say, learning to trust allows for so much more. Thank you again for another beautiful post.

  5. Hi Karen! I love this post. This is the place that I try to live in. As you said it is a “practice”…so true. The more I practice, the easier it becomes. I love it!! Thanks for putting it into words 🙂

  6. Great post, Karen. You write so beautifully! “The more we practice, the more confident we become and allow the miracles of life to unfold.” Really nice. It is a practice. A good one.

      1. Yes! Very lovely to have like-minded support and encouragement. So nice having a connection with you, Karen.

  7. Karen that last quote is so beautiful and I guess thats how I am trying to live my life. Fear does creep in somedays and I know if I just say to myself trust in the path that the man upstairs has set out for me I feel a little more comforted.

    1. In order for us to truly trust, we have to believe in something more than our own ability and control. It is a process over time. Once I started to let go of my control, I began to see clear signs that life could evolve perfectly and naturally. I think we are all trying to live this life Kath, one day and step at a time. Have a great day.

      1. Im seeing those signs too Karen and its kind of a relief for a person who use to be a worrier as a child. When I lost my brother I think it was then I understood how much I cannot control. When I had my son with autism challenges, I began to learn patience and to just let it all go. Im in a good place and I know it has something to do with my age but I also see people who choose not to learn from the challenges sent their way, we are all so different. Thanks for another great post you never disappoint.

    2. I agree Kath, Im not so sure it has anything to do with age, but from a conscious choice after tragic circumstances like your brother, and from being patient and accepting of your son. We are all given different experiences and opportunities to change.

Through our difficult situations, we chose to let go of our control and over time, learn to trust again. I am very glad you did! You inspire me. 🙂
