“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” – Maya Angelou
OUR HOME
Our true home is in the present moment.
To live in the present moment is a miracle.
The miracle is not to walk on water.
The miracle is to walk on the green Earth …
to appreciate the peace and beauty available now …
in our bodies and our spirits.
Once we learn to touch this peace,
we will be healed and transformed.
It is not a matter of faith;
it is a matter of practice.
– Thich Nhat Hanh
Love the photo and the quotes! 🙂

Beautiful words with a profound depth of truth, but sadly I live on a continent where so many people in places are experiencing the direct antithesis; earth for them has become scorched by war and poverty and terrible oppression, a frightening place, and their bodies, twisted and tormented by torture and disease. I look at these people and wonder how they ever feel at home. You can see the longing that Maya Angelou speaks of, in their eyes. I’m not sure how you speak of home to these people. Perhaps one can only whisper it with unimaginable sensitivity to their plight.
Thankyou for your heartfelt and beautiful comment Don. You are right, amongst the oppression and the war where is there home? Hopefully they hold that within them, close to their hearts, their memories, their love, their hope. And if not, perhaps we can hold that for them here, where the earth is green and rich.

What a beautiful thought Karen. May all beings find peace within, even when the outer world is at war.
Beautiful!
It is, thankyou Eliza, I love these words.

God provides our Earth so beautiful and pure that we can image heaven in the smallest and greatest of creation. The world often obscures this vision and draws our attention from it. And so too distorts our image of God and His purpose; which is to bring each of us home to Him.
Thankyou Alan for your comment, God does provide for us. We need to understand and appreciate the gifts we have and the abundance around us.

Wonderful quotes to share Karen. Thank you 🙂
Thank you Val. We all want to feel at home.

Thankyou Val, may we all practice that prayer.
I especially respond to the last line: “it is a matter of practice”. It is empowering.
I do too MK, there is always a discipline and practice in order for us to receive.
