“If you keep doing what you have always done, you will suffer.”
Change is here.
Holidays are cancelled. Economy is falling. Family gatherings postponed indefinitely. Borders are closed. Beaches and parks are now in lock down.
It’s tough.
No matter where we think we can turn for space, for freedom; another day arrives, with yet another road block.
We are all hurting in some way.
So my new question is “What’s here?”
What’s the point of asking this question? Well if we don’t get creative right now, if we don’t open up, and expand into a changing world that we have never lived in before; then we may just go down with the ship.
In order to find what’s here, right now in front of us, requires us to pause, take a knee, and take note of the good, the abundant, and the possible, and if not, then imagine it.
I was at the beach this weekend, might be closed next week…this I don’t know. But anyway, I took it all in while I could. I was grateful for the vast blue sea, the bluest of blue skies, the soft white sand, warm water, long walks, fresh air, our health, my beautiful family and dear friends.
So what’s here for you? Look deeply and mindfully. Not at what we can’t do, or what we can’t have.
Just what we do have. Here and Now.
And just be sure to notice the collateral beauty……
Beautiful and inspiring post, Karen ๐
Thank you Irene. Much love ๐
Love for you too, Karen.
It does make us really appreciate what we had…so that if we get it back it will be treated with more respect, more care and so much more love โค๏ธ
May it be ๐ โค๏ธ ๐๐ฝ ๐ฆ
Yes, it absolutely can, if we create new choices now. Thanks Mark. Take care ๐๐๐ป
Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful. Important questions for us all to live. Nothing will be the same after this…and I feel that is as it should be. We are ready for this shift…or we wouldnโt be here at this time. May you and your family and friends be well, dear Karen. ๐๐ป๐
It is how it should be and at times, itโs difficult to wrap our heads around. And even though we called this in unconsciously, now itโs here, we are wondering why ha! We are well Carrie and like everyone, taking each day at a time. Thank you for seeing the potential in this moment and for your posts and comments of encouragement. Much love ๐๐
๐โฎ๏ธ to you…dear Karen.
I love this attitude. All we can do is what is in front of us to do. With the right spirit. Thanks, Karen. Hugs to you.
Isnโt it a strange feeling to know that everyone around the world is having the same experience? What an amazing example of oneness we are facing? There is no one that doesnโt understand how you feel? Itโs a world we never knew could evolve or exist. Hugs to you my friend. May you stay grounded in change and create whatever you need to survive. Much love. ๐
I do believe that out of this horrific thing could come some wonderful pets. The oneness that you talk about. I have to hope so. Thank you for the wise and kind words.
๐๐๐
Wise words, Karen. Counting our blessings makes great sense, now more than ever! xo
These blessings are there to be seen Eliza. Just takes a little longer to focus on them. ๐๐๐ป
We now live in a world we didn’t know ‘yesterday’ but it’s still our only world we have. I still marvel at the tiny and big wonders it offers, I take great joy looking at the spring flowers on my table and in the tiny patch outside…. and we’re praying for a change. You captured the situation beautifully Karen. May we collectively become ONE and be strong, well rooted, thankful and hopeful that there IS a future. โค
So true Kiki. There will be a future. And this will end, but Until then we have some deep changes and learnings to face. I think what we can do is to continue connecting and supporting one another. No one is doing this alone, and even when they feel they are, together we can remind them we are here with them. Take care Kiki and thank you for seeing and acknowledging the beauty and wonders that are still here โ๏ธ๐๐
It boggles my mind when I think about the fact that the entire world is in the same situation at the moment. Have been relentlessly focusing on the positive and drawing strength from nature as much as possible, but this morning, for whatever reason, I am struggling to stay calm. Need to head out for a walk and precious reminder that even in the midst of this pandemic, when so much is unknown, life continues and there is much to be grateful for. Thank you for the reminder, Karen. So grateful for YOU. XOX
I think itโs completely normal to have moments of fear and overwhelm during this immense uncertainty. We are so used to being in control. Knowing we can fly anywhere, work anywhere, do anything! Now we have to consider every decision we make and how it will affect our family, friends and neighbours, which no one usually does ha! Now we have slow down without choice and see and feel what we have been avoiding through busyness. And so, here we all are! ๐Def keep grounding outside in nature; it will help balance our fears about the future and our incessant need to know when itโs ending ha! Love to you and your family Lori. ๐๐
A perfect post, Karen. What is here…indeed. I spent my last day on the beach a few days ago…our town closed all beaches. I remember thinking when this first happened that at least I would still be able to walk on the beach and take in mother nature….the beach has restored me so many times…in so many ways. Now that is gone too. So, your post reminds me to think of what is still here and not linger in the past. And that is a good thing…because love is here. And fear is here too…but if I put the focus on love…it edges out the fear.
I hope you are well…and know that you will do all you can to stay that way.
Sweet Blessings, Karen. As we all adjust to the new normal may we do so with light from our soul!

So true Lorrie. Nature heals us all and so when that is taken, we really have to become creative! They say that when you imagine and visualise we are somewhere else, our body believes it is. So lots of beautiful meditations and visualisations. Lots of sound meditations like we are at the sea. We just need to keep expanding and creating amongst all the fears and blockages. And yes, love is โhereโ peace is here and connection is here. We just have to do it differently right now. Much love Lorrie. May you stay well. ๐๐
Beautiful, Karen ๐ Yes…I do believe in visualizations. A friend told me today of a feed on You-tube called “Living Walk.” It is a video feed touring different places on earth. She said it is amazing. I have not watched it yet, but it sounds really cool.
Yes, I will continue to practice self-isolation…social distancing and do my beat to keep my family safe. I hope you do the same. It really helps to connect with pure souls…thanks for your peace ๐
Thanks Lorrie ๐
Iโm glad you were able to make it to the beach. Such a healing place! Stay well.
I was grateful too Emilie! I hope you are going okay and adjusting to all the changes. ๐๐
An inspiring post, Karen. I enjoyed reading the comments on this post. Lots of great stuff. We have to stay positive and go with the flow and our journey. Writer Lori wrote that it boggles her mind that the entire world is in the same situation. It is rather boggling and yet interesting. Stay safe everyone and practice social distancing. โค
Thereโs a unique and deep universal connection right now. Itโs a gift that wonโt last forever and so we should take every opportunity to see ourselves and others with love and care. Thank you Carol. Take care and stay well in your world. ๐๐๐
Wow, Karen! So many changes since then. This article is just as inspiring because we are โstill in it,โ but in a different way. I love the title โcollateral beauty.โ
Yes I love collateral beauty too, Itโs the oneness of lifeโs beauty and love within each of us and all around us. Thanks Ka. ๐๐
