Gratitude

“You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

I arrived home yesterday from a week in Shanghai China.

It was a quick decision to go, after my husband was asked to do some work consulting there.  I had never been before and so I took the opportunity to travel with him.

From the moment I arrived, I was overwhelmed by the immense gratitude, service and presence that the Chinese people have towards others.

No matter where they lived, or worked, or how much or little they had, they arrived each day with a deep sense of purpose, living fully in this moment.

Their ability to make you feel at home was beautifully authentic.

And so, I have returned humbled by my experience.

I have returned asking, “Where are you feeling gratitude in this moment?” At work, at home, for others and within myself?

I have returned to realize the immense abundance and freedom I have and I will not take this for granted.

谢谢 xiè xie, Shanghai.

  1. Delighted that you had a good trip, Karen. My first thought after reading your post was “The law of attraction at work.” Convinced that you were simply getting back what you put out. 😘

  2. A pleasant coincidence, Karen. I also came back home on 13th from a short trip to Sweden. And came back with gratitude, for the love that surrounds me no matter where I am.
