Adjust.. Adapt

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.     Viktor Frankl

In certain parts of Australia we are overwhelmed with bush fires, and to make matters worse, the firefighters are working in extreme weather conditions, which makes their job even more precarious.

Needless to say, they often just have to wait it out, be patient and adjust to the ever-changing environment.

Suffering is only ever present in my life when there is a resistance to change, or an inability to adjust or adapt to the situation at hand.  Often it can feel like a fire which is out of control and has no way out.

But what I have found time and time again, is that no matter what is going on around me, I always have a way through, by remembering what nature has always known.

Change will always come. Accept the conditions that are presented to you. Move through each moment the best way you can.  Be patient as you adjust to the new conditions of growth, and learn to adapt.

“Of course, there is no formula for success except, perhaps, an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.”  Arthur Rubinstein

  1. Nice post Karen, and my thoughts are with you and the devastation being wrought by fire on your lovely land. And yet, new life will spring from the ashes as it ever does. Nature is the most wondrous teacher and healer. Anita x

  2. Holding you and other Australian friends close to my heart, Karen. Having seen the devastation wrought by fire in CA, I am deeply sympathetic. And as we have discussed, change is definitely challenging, but remaining labile is the key. Sending big hugs your way! Xox

    1. It is devastating Lori and I’m very grateful to be nowhere near it, and i too feel for those who have lost everything and do not know where they will go from here. Change definitely helps us discover Our courage and strength. Thanks Lori 💚💕💚

  3. Patience and trust in nature helps us become present and accepting instead of resisting and in denial. From here, thankfully we can make Plan B to ensure we aren’t caught up in the flames and adapt and adjust for the benefit of all.
Thank you Karen for your wisdom 💛

  4. After finally getting our CA fires under control, we now have eyes on Australia. It is hard to imagine the suffering that is caused by these fires.
Acceptance and faith must carry us through.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Karen. ❤

    1. It is hard to imagine and at this time of year when everyone is looking forward to a holiday and family get togethers, it creates even more heartache. It’s definitely a time to support all those who are left with nothing. Thanks Eliza 💕🙏🏻
