Soul Connection

A miracle, is a shift in perception from fear to love.  Marianne Williamson

“Technologies of the soul tend to be simple, bodily, slow and related to the heart as much as the mind. Everything around us tells us we should be mechanically sophisticated, electronic, quick, and informational in our expressiveness – an exact antipode to the virtues of the soul. It is no wonder, then, that in an age of telecommunications – which, by the way, literally means “distant connections” – we suffer symptoms of the loss of soul. We are being urged from every side to become efficient rather than intimate.”  Thomas Moore

I love these words of Thomas Moore.  He reminds me to make time to nurture and create an intimate connection to my soul. Our deepest desire is to be connected.  Make time each day to honor this intimacy.

The soul is partly in time and partly in eternity. We might remember the part that resides in eternity when we feel despair over the part that is in life.”

Thomas Moore, Care of the Soul: A Guide for Cultivating Depth and Sacredness in Everyday Life

  1. It does seem that the soul is being forgotten in this crazed, high velocity world. Starving for some peace, and clueless about how to get it. Step away from that screen, folks, and take a walk in nature! ❤
