What if you knew that the impulse to move in a way that creates beauty in the world will arise from deep within and guide you every time you simply pay attention, and wait? – Oriah Mountain Dreamer
After having a few weeks at the beach, I feel rejuvenated, peaceful and very grateful. While away, I concentrated on using my breath more in my practice. I used my breath to create calm within and then connect each breath with deep intention.
For example, I would practice breathing in and out into my heart for a few minutes to create calm and stillness, I then concentrate on memories and feelings of love, compassion and joy for a few minutes. I then expanded those feelings into my heart with my breath. As I began to feel this more deeply, I say “I am breathing in love, as I felt compassion, love and peace and then I say, I am breathing out love, and visualize this love extending outwardly.” It’s such a simple practice each day, but it makes a world of difference.
I thought the words from this beautiful poem by Oriah expressed this perfectly! May this New Year fill us with love, joy and peace.
Sit beside me in long moments of shared solitude, knowing both our absolute aloneness and our undeniable belonging. Dance with me in the silence and in the sound of small daily words, holding neither against me at the end of the day.
And when the sound of all the declarations of our sincerest intentions has died away on the wind, dance with me in the infinite pause before the next great inhale of the breath that is breathing us all into being, not filling emptiness from the outside or from within.
Don’t say “Yes” just take my hand and dance with me….

That’s exactly what I hoped you would feel Lori! Happy New Year and may we all connect to this love more often 💕💕
Karen, the header on your opening page (new since I was last here) is incredibly powerful. Photo and words.
It also matches all the wisdom in your words and the practices that can show us the precious value and beauty life holds, even when so much around us can at first glance look like it is all falling apart. Wishing you a beautiful start to the year.
Thankyou Randall! There is always another layer and perspective to see in our life no matter what is going on. May your new direction this year bring you abundance and joy. 🌿
Inspiring words, Karen, thank you.
Happy New Year Don. Thankyou 🙏🏻

Happy New Year Alan. Thankyou so much 🙏🏻
That sounds like a wonderful and powerful practice, Karen! Thank you for sharing… and welcome back ❤
Thanks Helen it’s a great practice to connect again. 💕🍀
I love the words & photo. ❤ The picture conveys a kind of wild liberation, abandon, no restraints, a fierce kind of joy. I love meditation & practice Buddhist meditation & lovingkindness, & some sleep meditations at night. I love the idea of breathing out compassion & love to the uni-verse and not just breathing it in. I practice meditation sometimes breathing in bright white light (often envisioning the Buddha before me) then breathing out pain, problems, stress, anxiety, fear, despair….in the form of dark smoke. It’s a great meditation practice but it’s really good to breathe out positive things once in a while too! 😀 Thank you for sharing! ❤
Thankyou and I love the meditation that you practice as well. Each time we visualize these thoughts in our practice, we definitely shift our energy and feel lighter. Have a great day. 🙂
Simply beautiful, I know I say that often on your site Karen but its the truth. I need to breathe deep as we take a step off into the year of 2017 with many changes. Moving house, husband moving jobs and children all now in high school. There goes the idea I would use this month to kick start goals. Im wrapping and packing and cleaning.
Wow are you moving very far? That is a huge job and no one likes doing it. It will be a big year for us all and I feel a lot of big energy coming through to take action, this is not a year to sit back and wait. So your off to a great start!! I hope it all goes smoothly for you Kath and the kids have a good year at high school. Thankyou for your support. 💕💕
Not far, in fact just up the road Karen, will be renting a house where I actually get a studio yay! Yes in the numerology reading I had it is the year to act on your goals but January will be filled with packing and moving and so I must let it go and hope our new abode brings much peace, joy, abundance and balance into our lives. I need your positive posts to keep me grounded. Will look forward to reading your second book if you write one. xxxx
Great you have a studio! It will be wonderful to have your own space to work . Next book is on its way!! . I have lots of crazy ideas but will take it one step at a time! Hope you get through the move smoothly 💚💚
Thats exciting Karen, your positive vibe needs to be shared, you can help so many. Look forward to reading it. I have been doing a positive meditation about abundance and when my husband left his job of seven and a half years and we now have to move from the farm I thought, oh its not working, but he got a new job that very week and we found a big house that takes pets and has extra rooms and so I feel the universe may be opening new doors for us.
So beautiful and inspiring Karen 💛
Breath and movement is everything. When we lose touch with either, we lose touch with life.
You dropped off my reader for some reason, so I will re-follow shortly!

Breath and movement is essential I agree! That’s why we love Yoga Val! I have that happen to my reader too! Reconnecting again ha 💕💚💕
What comes around … gotcha!
