I choose….

Our life is the result of the choices we make.  If we don’t like our life, then it’s time to start making better choices.

From the moment we wake up, we are making choices.  Let’s remember we are all responsible for each decision we make.  Even if those before us have made the wrong choices.  Each day we have a new opportunity to choose differently.

I Chose

I chose.
I chose.

I chose to give away my love
I chose to have a broken heart
I chose to give up
I chose to hang on

I chose to react
I chose to feel insecure
I chose to feel anger
I chose to fight back
I chose to have hope

I chose to ignore my intuition
I chose to ignore advice
I chose to listen

However, we are not alone. Generations of women and men in our family have chosen. We have all chosen at one time in our lives. We stand behind you now screaming:

Choose to let go
Choose dignity
Choose to forgive yourself
Choose to forgive others
Choose to see your value
Choose to show the world you’re not a victim
Choose to make us proud

  1. Yeah, I’m with Eliza. Amen! Choose Love!
    Thanks Karen.
Peace. Love and compassionate self forgiveness

  2. Seeing through non judgemental eyes, listening through noise dampening ears and speaking with soft and mindful words helps create the positive choices we seek.
Thank you for sharing Ms. Alder’s words.

  3. The verses sound like freedom to me. In life, it’s always good to have options. 😉 My line of work isn’t exactly “me”. But, I really love that it is taking me to places which is “me”. Freedom, choices, options, they don’t come easy.

  4. I am becoming more aware of my daily choices Karen its about slowing my thoughts and words down and maybe not saying or reacting as quick as I do. But some days when autism challenges me I fall short. At least I get back up and try again.

  5. Lovely. Wish I could share this with a friend. She lost her mum months ago and she has not accepted she is in a better place. I am not intending to seem heartless. There are just some things you can not undo. Death when you are old is kinda one of them…….

    1. It’s true watching friends or family suffer after death is hard but they do have a choice to heal and let go. You probably could share this as we never know, sometimes it may plant a seed for them. Thankyou Helen. 🙏🏻
