A child’s definition of love

When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore.  So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too.  That’s love.” Rebecca – age 8

A four-year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.  Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry.”

  1. Amazing how much we can learn from children. I hope one day we can become just as aware how much we can teach them so they have the opportunity to grow up healthy and happy.

  5. Karen all of these are so very precious. Especially the last one. kids seem to have a way about them don’t they. I have this clear memory of my six year old niece turning around in church at my brothers funeral, she smiled and just grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I cannot describe the comfort I felt from that. She says now as an adult she can barely remember, but i will treasure that moment forever.
