Go Beyond

Staying in the comfort of  our life, work and home is really okay if that is where you are meant to be, but if you feel stagnate or bored or too scared to change your circumstances,  you may be missing out on amazing opportunities and experiences in life.

Study, learn a new hobby, move house, travel to an exotic location, volunteer overseas or just do something completely opposite to what you normally do. Why? because it pushes us out of our comfort zone and gives us opportunities to expand and discover the amazing potential we are holding back.

“Open yourself to ideas, events, relationships that make you uncomfortable. Travel places where you know no one. Learn another language. Create art, even though you’re not an artist. Argue with people. Fall down. Get up. Read books, all sorts of books”. – Juan Williams

First acknowledge your fears about change.  Write down why you feel you cannot do or start something new and then explore reasons why and  “why not?”

Challenge yourself to learn something different every year and see it through.  It’s wonderful to feel the sense of achievement and completion and to expand your mind to new ways of thinking.

Write a bucket list.  Time is short and precious, so start imagining what it is you want to achieve or have never done and set some goals for when and how.

Keep challenging yourself to get out of your comfort zone. The task remains for you to continually grow and create another set of opportunities to pursue productive discomfort.

The more we step out into the unknown, the more we face our fears and grow.  Comfort is just an illusion and excuse that prevents us from changing our circumstances.

There is so much learn, so much to experience, so don’t waste another minute!! Today is a brand new opportunity to begin.

Understanding Fear

“Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.”

Living without any fear is unrealistic; nevertheless, there are fears that are unnecessary to our emotional life – fears that cause us to be needlessly unhappy.

Letting go of fear simply means replacing fear with trust, acceptance, and peace of mind.   Fearing the possibilities life has in store for us is much more from habit than a reality.

Learning to love and accept ourselves requires that we begin to acknowledge those feelings that we have tried to suppress.  Whether we know so consciously or not, these feelings are meant for us to feel. They are what can free us from our own self-limiting beliefs, and they are what continue to keep us disconnected, and separate from all that we can be.

Notice all the ways you may be separating yourself, and  how many of your motivating emotions fall under the category of fear.  Become aware of how many times you say “no” instead of “yes” out of fear.

“Don’t give in to your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.” – Paulo Coelho

Changing our fear based habits is difficult.  Who we see ourselves as being versus who we are underneath our fears takes courage and action.  We may find it easier to hold onto destructive ways rather than face change.

When we develop a sense of trust in life as opposed to dwelling on our fears of the unknown, we become more accepting and learn to focus on our creative centre and find ways to be more productive.

Be willing to  question your own mind. Trust there is a reason and purpose for our life. Most of us begin healing when our own life experiences throw us out of line or challenge us to face our fears. It’s during these times of darkness, doubt, and pain when we try to look for answers.

“Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.” – Dorothy Thompson

Learn to trust in yourself and spirit for your answers.  Yoga is a wonderful discipline to train the mind-body and spirit to work through the challenges and fear based blockages within us.  Each time we breathe through these poses, we let go of our fear and pain and work towards wholeness.

Each day, practice re-training your fear based conditioning and work hard at letting it go, so we can embrace life fully.

“Internal and external are ultimately one. When you no longer perceive the world as hostile, there is no more fear, and when there is no more fear, you think, speak and act differently. Love and compassion arise, and they affect the world.” – Eckhart Tolle

Fear

It is not that you must be free from
fear.  The moment you try to free
yourself from fear, you create a resistance
against fear.  Resistance, in any form,
does not end fear.  What is needed, rather
than running away or controlling or
suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it,
learn about it, come directly into contact
with it.  We are to learn about fear,
not how to escape from it, not how to
resist it through courage and so on.

J. Krishnamurti

Let fear show itself to you.

When we hide fear, it grows.  The more we pretend it’s not there, the more power it has over us and soon, it starts to control certain parts of your life and freedom.

Let fear show itself to you.

Fear is merely a lie we once told ourselves about someone or something.  A lie, an illusion we convinced ourselves at the time was the truth.

Let fear show itself to you.

For what you will find, is that fear is not that scary, it’s not that big and when you see the lie in front of you, it is only then, you will see the truth.

Let fear show itself to you.

For when you see the truth, you will let the lie and fear go….. for they are one…….

Let fear go…..and receive the freedom you long for.
