Let’s Dance

‘I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.’

I read an interesting article the other day discussing how bees use a type of dance as a way to communicate the location of their food sources.

The direction of the dance that the bees do on the honeycomb, correlates with the direction of the food source relative to the sun’s position, and the duration and intensity of the “waggles” in the dance indicate the distance to the food source.

How amazing is Mother Nature?

There are two types of dance. One is called the ‘Waggle Dance’ which indicates the food source relative to the sun’s position and the intensity of this dance depends on the distance of the food source.

The second type of dance is called a ‘Round Dance’ and this one doesn’t convey directional information, but rather a closer source of food nearby.

Interestingly, these dances are not just innate behaviours of the bees, rather, the bees learn and refine these dances through experience and observation within the colony.

And so, after reading this article, I began to question how I communicate and express myself in life.

How do we speak to ourselves each day? Is it from a place of fear, judgement, or love? and how is this received by those we love? What stops us from communicating from a place of freedom and joy? Or from attracting in the experiences we want in life?

The bees have refined their individual dance and communication with one another through observation and patience, and this was a beautiful reminder to me.

When we are in alignment with our authentic nature and truth, we will be intuitively led to communicate from a place of clarity, freedom and love.

  1. What a beautiful reflection Karen 🀝 Nature teaches us so muchβ€”bees communicate with clarity and purpose, while we often let fear or doubt cloud our expression. Your words remind us to dance through life with authenticity, joy, and love, just as we are meant to. πŸŒΈπŸπŸ’›

    1. Your comment is a perfect summary of this post! Thank you so much. I agree, being authentic is our deepest freedom. 🐝 🌿🧑

  2. Indeed we will Karen. In the meantime fear disrupts the truth of our love so that the signals we give out are hindered and difficult to read. But that is this worlds lesson so that we can see that fault and slowly become the lighthouse that love is. Great post kind lady, those bee’s are indeed a magic of nature. Thank you for sharing πŸ€—β€οΈπŸ™

    1. Yes so true, to know ourselves deeply is the answer! That way we are present and aware of how we communicate in life. Keep dancing freely Mark πŸ•ΊπŸΌ 🐝 🌿 🐝

  3. When we get lost in the maze in everyday life of our own making, we can and always should look to nature for solutions. For it is God’s way through nature and the natural to lead us out of worldly complexities to simply remedy our angsts and open us to the realization of our sought beneficial desires.

    Great post, Karen. Thought provoking.

    1. I totally agree Alan. I always feel close to God in nature. Being in it each day reminds me of the oneness of all life, and it teaches me to ground and stay present. Thank you so much. πŸŒΏπŸ€πŸŒΏπŸŒˆ

    1. It’s so true Michele. This is not a new idea, but rather an ongoing awakening within, when we take the time to be still and observe the miracles and teachings in nature. πŸ€πŸŒΏπŸ€ πŸŒˆπŸ€
