Letting Go

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”  – Steve Marboli

The story below reflects how at times, we all hold onto unnecessary stress and pain in our lives.

I have found that when I am holding onto unforgiveness for anyone or any situation in my life, I feel heavy and burdened.  Forgiveness is the simplest act and yet we hold onto this pain out of an illusion of justice and for the need to protect our ego.

When we decide that living freely and more compassionately is more important that holding on, we can learn to move forward into our true self and true potential.  The lightness you will feel after forgiving and letting go will convince you it’s worth it.

“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” – C JoyBell

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.
She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”

“Letting go with forgiveness, gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.”

Fear

It is not that you must be free from
fear.  The moment you try to free
yourself from fear, you create a resistance
against fear.  Resistance, in any form,
does not end fear.  What is needed, rather
than running away or controlling or
suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it,
learn about it, come directly into contact
with it.  We are to learn about fear,
not how to escape from it, not how to
resist it through courage and so on.

J. Krishnamurti

Let fear show itself to you.

When we hide fear, it grows.  The more we pretend it’s not there, the more power it has over us and soon, it starts to control certain parts of your life and freedom.

Let fear show itself to you.

Fear is merely a lie we once told ourselves about someone or something.  A lie, an illusion we convinced ourselves at the time was the truth.

Let fear show itself to you.

For what you will find, is that fear is not that scary, it’s not that big and when you see the lie in front of you, it is only then, you will see the truth.

Let fear show itself to you.

For when you see the truth, you will let the lie and fear go….. for they are one…….

Let fear go…..and receive the freedom you long for.

ABUNDANCE

You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?”

Alberto Villodo is an amazing author that has taught me so much about understanding who I am and where I am going in life.

The Four Insights: Wisdom, Power, and Grace of the Earthkeepers [Paperback]

The universe always mirrors back to us the conditions of our love and our intent. If we’re fearful that money won’t come to us, it won’t. If we experience abundance by imagining ourselves with plenty, even if we have no money right now, we will have abundance, and we can be sure that the money is on its way to us. This happens because we’re in balance.

So when our life isn’t working for us, the most effective solution isn’t to change our career, spouse, exercise routine, or community, but to work on what we have already. We rid ourselves of the unproductive stories and envision the experiences we’d like to have.

Start to question your inner belief’s about money.  Did you grow up in an environment that made you believe you never had enough?  Did you grow up in an environment where you never worried about money or abundance?  This will clearly define who you are now and why you believe if you are abundant or not.

The shift from poverty into abundance is and always will be, based on your unconscious belief system.  Once you understand that, you need to shift the old belief within you and in doing so, you will allow abundance in.  It’s not just a matter of saying “I want to be rich, bring it on!”.  If you don’t believe that unconsciously, you will not receive it.

Why do you stay in prison, When the door is so wide open?”
― Rumi The Essential Rumi, New Expanded Edition

So become conscious of how you see money.  Am I generous and detached from money?  or Do I hang onto each dollar, wondering where the next will come from?  When you can freely give, even if you are poor, you will freely receive.

I have always found this to be true.  When I let go of my fear of receiving, when I truly trust in an abundant life that I know I deserve, it will come.  Work out where your fears are, if you are not receiving, you are holding a fear, blocking the source of abundance.

When you can see where your fear is, face it.  See the illusion that fear is and let it go.  See how fear controls you, yet it has no truth.  When you find your truth and realise you deserve so much more than you believe, you will become open to receiving the life you wish for.

Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.
