Focus on what you want

“Reality is a projection of your thoughts or the things you habitually think about.”  – Stephen Richards

Do you know what you focus on each day?  Are you focused on the negative or the positive in life? Our thoughts are powerful magnets that attract what we focus on.

So if you continually say…”We never have enough money.”  “I am always sick.” “I will never find the love of my life.”  “No-one ever supports me.” Then we are actually creating and attracting those outcomes as truth for us.

“Happiness is something we reap from the seeds we sow. Plant misery seeds and that is what you reap.”

Change the negative thoughts and self talk to thinking about some goals that really excite you.  Objectives that inspire you so much, that you begin to see how much of an impact you can make, maybe even to the benefit of other people’s life.  When you shift your focus onto a positive vibration, you will begin to see how the world starts to see you differently.

It’s great to have specific goals and timeframes around them but what is more important than goal setting is “Accepting”.  Accepting your life right now for what it is, good or bad.  Being able to wake up in the morning and allowing yourself to see that you are perfect right now and creating your thoughts around “possible” rather than “impossible”.

“You can’t make yourself feel positive, but you can choose how to act, and think and if you choose right, it builds your confidence and changes outcomes.” – Julien Smith

Become aware of your dialogue and thoughts in every situation.  See how you automatically speak “negatively” and correct yourself to make it positive.  These thoughts and attitudes each day are creating the whole picture of your life.

I have found, having good habits and positive practices to be instrumental.  Waking up to Yoga and Meditation each day, sets me on a positive course and a stillness to know I can consistently get more done.  As these patterns establish into a routine, you will find that you will become a better judge of what is right for you and will attract the right people and the right outcomes.

“We can throw stones, complain about them, stumble on them, climb over them, or build with them.”  – William Arthur Ward

You are the creator of your life.  You are so much more powerful that you know.  Tap into this power and take responsibility and action towards creating and manifesting your dreams.  Most importantly, learn to love and accept every stage of your journey.

“I wanted color. I wanted to soar with happiness even if it meant dealing with the weight of fear and guilt, too. I wanted to live.”  – Heather Anastasiu

Your Heart’s Longing

“Work to connect yourself to the allness of life ….instead of identifying with the smallness of it.  You will awaken to a greatness already living within you that is no more bothered by the little things in life than a mountain is made miserable by the rain that falls upon it.”

Do we think small in life?  Do we limit ourselves from greater blessings because we create obstacles that are based on fears that are not real?  How can we break out of the familiar and into changes that will help us grow?

“It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.” – Oriah

We are told, “To find our truth we must connect to our heart”, but what does that mean?  To discover our truth we must open the heart that we have learnt to close and create barriers around.  Our hearts hold our past hurts and wounds and they stay there until we can forgive them and let them go.  Once healed, we can learn to open our hearts again and see the truth of who we are.

We limit our true potential by the beliefs we have told ourselves throughout our life. Your inner truth may tell you to be a writer, but your family has always told you to be a lawyer.  What does your heart truth tell you?  Speaking your truth means supporting your true feelings with action.  It means having the courage to do what is right for you and trusting the universe will support you in this decision.

“I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. “

When we block the truth from emerging, we block our energy from flowing and that affects our thoughts and our emotions, which in turn, affects the proper functioning of our physical body.  Often people are sick, simply because they are not allowing their true potential and truth to shine through.

These distorted beliefs and subconscious programs, you have accepted as your truth, will sabotage you from being able to rise above the limitations, control and manipulation of the universe.

“I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!” – Oriah

It may seem difficult at first to step outside what seems familiar and yet, if the result of being uncomfortable for a short time allows a wonderful freedom in living your truth, isn’t it worth it?

As your energetic blocks are cleared through stillness, healing and meditation, your true- self will emerge. Ultimately, your level of truth will be based on your level of consciousness, so the more you practice, the more you will grow.

“Live your truth.  Express your love.  Share your enthusiasm.  Take actions towards your dreams.  Walk your talk.  Dance and sing to your music.  Embrace your blessings.  Make today worth remembering.” – Steve Maraboli

The bigger picture

“…it’s hard to see the bigger picture when you think you are the great controller of your life.” ~ Donna Farhi

In a busy life, it can be difficult to find the time and space to take a step back and look at the bigger picture of life.

When we are caught up in the chaos of family, work  and commitments of  life, we can sometimes lose sight of our purpose and forget why we are here.

When you know who you are and that includes your mind, body and spirit, you will discover a truth within and you will become completely aware of everything coming to you through your life senses; you will experience a full life.

The mind is so close to your spirit that most people do not realise that they are two separate things. The mind creates the illusion that it is the spirit.

The more you see the truth, the more you will see the life. The more you see life, the more you will see the truth. They build on each other, and your knowledge of them grows until you know life completely and become life.

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.” – Abraham Lincoln

When life seems too stressful to see the bigger picture of truth, or when you feel you may not be able to move through the problems right away and step into the possibilities that are patiently waiting your invitation, you will need to stop and slow your thoughts down, before something else stops you.

It’s not about getting over or rid of what is generating stressful thoughts and feelings, it’s about learning, growing, and expanding through them, and even befriending them.

When you can see past your feelings and problems, you begin to see the wonderful ways the Universe is supporting you.  Slowing down and becoming still regularly on your journey, you will move out of the small picture zone into the big picture zone.

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.” – Frances Hodgson Burnett

Discover what inspires you.  Discover what makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning.  To see a bigger picture you must change the familiar and step outside of your comfort zone.  You may find that engaging in the very things, people, situations and feelings that are stressful and painful, you will find introspection and insights.

Make time to ask yourself these questions during the busyness of your week, “What have I overlooked or neglected in being caught in the chaos?”  “Have I made time for myself first and then my family?” ” What is the most important thing I need to remember in this moment?”

“The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close up.” – Chuck Palahniuk

Write down your goals and visions for the future and see where you can make changes to create them.  Seek advice or counselling from others who inspire you and make time to find this amazing truth and higher purpose that lies within you waiting.

“We often need to lose sight of our priorities in order to see them.”  – John Irving

Choices

“And I found that I can do it if I choose to – I can stay awake and let the sorrows of the world tear me apart and then allow the joys to put me back together different from before but whole once again.”  – Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Do we realise the power of choice we have each day?  Do we understand the impact of those choices for ourselves and others each day?

To deny we have this power of choice within us, keeps us from growing.  It keeps us from moving out of destructive relationships and disappointments and from letting go of conditioned life patterns.

Generally we stay in this place of pain because we are familiar with it and fear of the unknown or change, seems too difficult.

“I want to know if you’ve touched the center of your own sorrow, if you’ve been opened by life’s betrayals, or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.” – Oriah

During the grief of my son’s death, I learnt I had a power of choice.  Each day when I awoke to the agony, pain and grief, I had a choice to lie in bed all day and slowly deteriorate, or stand up and make myself do things that would get me going.

People often say, “They cannot make that choice” but that is because they do not realise they hold this power within them already and the reason they cannot connect to it, is because their minds are too busy to understand it.

“I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day,and if you can source your own life from its presence.” – Oriah

To connect to this amazing power of choice, we must slow down our thoughts that overwhelm us during times of distress, grief or disease.  Our minds are powerful tools to work with, so in order for our minds to be still, we need to train them daily.

Meditation, Yoga, breathing, walking are all-powerful disciplines that help us connect to the source and the more you practice these disciplines, the more you will understand and see these choices.

If we want change in our life, we must have a willingness to embrace the challenge to move through the uncomfortable and into a trust of the unknown.  All I can do is remind you of what you have forgotten.  Living knowledge, ancient and yet ever new, is then activated and released from within every cell of your body.

In tapping into this power, you will start to see positive results and begin to feel confident in creating a new direction of hope and abundance.  Take time to look deeply within yourself and find the treasure to all your needs.

In the wise words of Mahatma Ghandhi: –
Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviour.
Keep your behaviour positive, because your behaviour becomes your habits.
Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.

Adding Value

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” – Mother Teresa

I read an article yesterday which spoke of a man who wakes up each day and asks, “How can I create more value in this world and how do I give to people?”

This question inspired me to ask, “Do I give freely?  Where do I add value in the choices I make each day”?

“Give yourself entirely to those around you. Be generous with your blessings. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.” – Steve Maraboli

To do something awesome, something great, we need inspiration. We need more than a calling, more than prayers, we need to take action.

It doesn’t have to be a huge gesture either.  Start by giving freely in the moment. Not saving up your good stuff until a time in the future when it will be needed, but giving it all right now and that can sometimes make you feel uncomfortable.

For example, giving when you don’t have a huge amount of money or having someone to dinner even when you feel you only have enough for your own family.  When we freely give, no matter what our circumstances, we are honoured and abundance arrives freely to us.

“I must be willing to give whatever it takes to do good to others. This requires that I be willing to give until it hurts. Otherwise, there is no true love in me, and I bring injustice, not peace, to those around me.” – Mother Teresa

Be generous when given the opportunity.  Focus on giving people dignity, respect and the chance to speak up.   When you accept and love someone, even when you do not approve of their choices in life, this is giving.  When we live from our heart and not from a place of judgement, you will find many ways to connect and give.

Be apart of the community, not apart from it.   See the bigger picture for others and be compassionate to those who have had a different journey to yours.  Be interested in all people and patient with those who have not yet understood the truth.

“Give freely to the world these gifts of love and compassion. Do not concern yourself with how much you receive in return, just know in your heart it will be returned.”  – Steve Maraboli

So today, look at giving differently.  Sometimes a smile, or a hug or a kind gesture can change someone’s belief in who they are.  We won’t always know the impact we have on others and we may not get a medal of honour for our giving, but what you will receive is a kind and generous heart that will grow and allow abundance and love to come to you.

“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” – Mary Anne Radmacher
