‘Love recognizes no barriers.’ Maya Angelou
Happy New Year!
Reflecting deeply on 2025, I realised I have a beautiful opportunity this week to acknowledge where I have been, and to contemplate how I would like to move and expand differently this year.
It’s easy to start the year by saying we all want more love, peace, success, abundance and freedom, because the truth is that’s what we all need.
The more challenging question for me is;
‘Where do I still allow judgement, fear, shame, guilt, or disrespect into my space?’
Because until I acknowledge these old thoughts, stories, and beliefs in my energy body unconsciously or consciously, and lift the veil of their heaviness, then I will not have room to receive more love, freedom, and peace in my life.
Recognising these wounded stories are in all of us and remembering we are never alone, we can start healing and compassionately nurturing these painful memories and when we are ready, we can release them.
Rumi’s quote below is just the reminder I need for 2026 and I hope his message finds space in your heart too.
‘The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was.
Lovers do not finally meet somewhere.
They are in each other all along.’
Not only do I love this Rumi quote, Iโm gonna join you in creating more space for love, too. Your question above is equally inspiring. Thank you! ๐๐ผ
You can join me anytime Ka! ๐งก๐
I have plenty of space for love and beautiful shining lights like you my friend ๐ซ๐ซ๐ซ
Amen to that Karen, a great share. I definitely know that love has no barriers. It’s just us fearful warriors adjusting our boundaries. We’ll get there kind lady, and those beautiful discoveries will indeed change our boundaries until that love is clear and pure. Great post kind lady, may we feel it true ๐คโค๏ธ๐
Expanding our limited boundaries is the answer Mark! Happy New Year ๐ฅณand may you feel this new energy move in your life. ๐๐ป๐
This is a beautiful New Year reflection, Karen. The question you pose about where we still allow judgement, fear, shame, guilt, or disrespect really lands; harder questions which lead to a more honest starting point for the new year.โ
As you say, wounded stories live in all of us, and understanding these makes it easier to walk into the year… something I think I subconsciously have done this year. The Rumi quote is perfect: love is not somewhere โout thereโ to find, but already within and between us. A beautiful post, and I also love the opening photo ~ it reminds me of the Ukrainian flag ๐
Thank you so much Randall and you are right, it does look like the Ukrainian ๐บ๐ฆ Flag! The spaciousness in this photo is how I want to feel as I move through 2026. And may we all allow room for what we need and deserve this year.

Beautiful Maya Angelou and Rumi quotes. Those wounded stories that live in us take our joy away. I’m with you, Karen, and want to release them this year to make room for love and what’s really important. Here’s to a wonderful year of growing and opening the door so the past can fly away.
I love that you honour your energy and your journey Michele! I think it will be a wonderful year of growth and new beginnings for us. ๐ฟ๐งกโ๏ธ Thank you ๐๐ป
Happy New Year, Karen. May it be filled with all your heart’s desires!
Thank you Carol! I wish the same to you this year ๐งก๐งก๐งก
Great question, โWhere do I still allow judgement, fear, shame, guilt, or disrespect into my space?โ I would also add, what can I learn from these emotional experiences? โค๏ธโฎ๏ธ
The examined life is our pathway to freedom! May we all continue to question our old ways. Thank you Ali ๐งก๐๐ป๐
And seek the questioning process as a way of living.
