The Value of NOW

‘Sometimes we will never know the ‘true value’ of this moment until it becomes a memory.’

The Tao Te Ching teaches us to practice more time in ‘self-awareness’ and less time ‘doing’. It says, ‘Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place.’

The central theme the Tao Te Ching teaches us to be aware of, is not the world, but ourselves. It says, ‘Love the world as your self, then you can care for all things.

At the end of each day I ask myself one question, ‘What did you value in the moments you were given?’

  1. Karen, love this… we really don’t appreciate the now as much as we could… as the wiser we become we do learn to slow down and enjoy each simple moment! AND this is exactly what life is all about, to realise the beauty, the value and that it all comes from within❤️ Beautiful post, Thankyou❤️

  2. The Dao de Jing is such an insightful philosophy, Karen, and this less you have brought to light with this post is special ~ yes, to the value of now. Wishing you well.

      1. Tuscany is such a gem. We are enjoying the everyday and special moments after the pandemic. For example our favorite restaurant owner hummed the striptease song as he revealed his face and gave us both huge hugs. 😄😎💖
