“Whatever you think the world is withholding from you, you are withholding from the world.” Eckhart Tolle
“A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.
The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food.
The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him.
She did so without hesitation.
The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.
“I’ve been thinking,” he said. “I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious.
“Teach me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.”
What keeps us withholding from the fullness of life? An old story?, a belief?, Scarcity, that we don’t have enough to share or give? We must become aware of this within us and learn to detach from it. In doing so, we will find the precious stones and wisdom we are searching for. We will discover that when we are attached to nothing, abundance is infinite.
“Teach me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.”
This story has always touched me deep. Thank you Karen.
I love it’s many beautiful layers Sawsan. As I get older, I want to detach more and more, so I can walk lightly and softly on this earth each day. 💕🙏🏻
Im with you Karen. Detach more and more. Just when we think we detached enough we find out we can’t detach more.
And it’s never about the stone.
❤
Yes there is always more ….🙏🏻
Felt like you were talking to me, Karen. I haven’t forgotten… xoxo, l
I know. ☺️ And the timing will be perfect my friend. 💕
a beautiful lesson
It’s really is. Thanks Beth 💚💕
“We will discover that when we are attached to nothing” – lot to chew on here Karen.
It’s an ongoing practice for sure. And it’s up to each of us how far we go to experience this deep freedom. 🙏🏻😔
Sure is.
Part of the journey is to place our desires in perspective.
Matthew Ricard says we are on this planet to be happy.
Happiness contains a massive amount of gratitude for all we have, mundane overlooked things plus a life of giving. Possessions and attachments are roadblocks to being happy.
No happiness around jealousy, anger, resentment, greed, worry, unworthiness or need for approval.
Yes this is true Marty and If we don’t take responsibility for our feelings and thoughts and create a different action each day to “what is” then happiness and freedom will always be an illusion. 💚
Wise words! Thanks for sharing this, Karen. 💛
Thanks Jennifer it’s a great story to remind us all 💕
i’m inspired to give
more stuff away!
may it be of benefit
to us both 🙂
Yes I agree David! Less is more 🌈
Beautiful story.
It is thanks Emilie 💕🙏🏻
So beautiful and profound, Karen. Abundance is on my radar and I am beginning to see the ways that I have held on to things for fear that there would be nothing to replace it! Very powerful stuff!
Sweet Blessings to you ❤
Beautiful Lorrie. Once we see where we are blocking this abundance the rest is just practice! May you receive it all 😘💕
Thank you, Karen. Yes…half the work is awareness…yes? I do feel more open and I continue to see where I hold onto lack.
Sweet blessings, Karen.
Yes Perfect!! 💕💚
Sage advice. Working on getting that ‘not good enough’ story from echoing in the halls of my head!
It’s true Vicki, I think there is always a faint voice echoing in our mind, but the more I focus on my truth and my power the quieter it becomes! Have a wonderful
day 💕💚✨
“…when we are attached to nothing, abundance is infinite.” Maybe what we think are needs aren’t really needs at all but distractions from what our hearts are really seeking.
Yes you are right Ali. That’s the illusion indeed. Thank you 💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
