Sometimes lying under a tree or walking barefoot on the earth, is the most spiritual experience you will ever have.
Last week I was running around like a crazy woman trying to launch a new project and by the end of the week I was exhausted, and felt like I had run a marathon! As I slowed down and connected again, I realised how often I had let my mind take over. Danna Faulds words are a beautiful reminder.
Walk Slowly
It only takes a reminder to breathe,
a moment to be still, and just like that,
something in me settles, softens, makes
space for imperfection. The harsh voice
of judgment drops to a whisper and I
remember again that life isn’t a relay
race; that we will all cross the finish
line; that waking up to life is what we
were born for. As many times as I
forget, catch myself charging forward
without even knowing where I’m going,
that many times I can make the choice
to stop, to breathe, and be, and walk
slowly into the mystery.

“It only takes a reminder to breathe, a moment to be still, and just like that, something in me settles, softens… ” So true and thankful that it is so. Thanks, Karen!
Me too Eliza 🙏🏻💕
So beautiful, Karen, and words to live by. xx
They really are! Thanks Jennifer 💕💚
A wonderful reminder, Karen. Having just arrived…home and into a slower and softer period, after two months of so many activities, feelings and experiences, I appreciate this post so much. Thank you. 💜
It’s always nice to reconnect to everything that is here now. Thank you Carrie, I am glad to hear you are home again 💕🙏🏻💚
This is beautiful. Thank you for the reminder.
We all need this! Thank you Michele 🙏🏻💕💕
Such a beautiful reminder, and reminds me of Thich Nhat Hanh’s quote, “walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet”.
Yes I love that quote too. That’s exactly how we should treat the earth. 💕💚
Perfect … to come back to again and again. May we all keep finding our middle ground … and let the peripheral go 💕
Yes indeed! 🙏🏻💚💕
This is really beautiful and fits very well in my own search for some rest in a time when I find it incredibly hard to relax as my mind is taking me to lots of places other than rest.
You are not alone. I practice everyday and still get caught in my mind when busy. My practice and nature keeps me balanced. 🙏🏻🌈
I don’t have a regular practice which might be part of the reason those short peaceful moments are so fleeting. I might gently want to change that. I say gently on purpose so that I doesn’t up just another thing on my to-do list.
You will find that the practice shortens the to-do-list and gives you so much more space to do the things you love and need. It has changed my life in every way! 💕 don’t let your mind convince you it’s another chore!
Hm, yes, that’s a good way to approach it. Thank you for reframing this for me. 🙂
🙏🏻
As is said in an old song lyric: “slow down you move to fast, got to make the morning last, just skipping down the cobble stones, having fun and feeling groovy”
-Alan
If only we remembered those wise words everyday! Thanks fior the smile Alan 😀
Ah yes, the crazy woman dance. One I am familiar with:). So glad you slowed down to breathe and enjoy the journey!
I forget a lot!! But my practice is my reminder every day! Thanks Kay 💚💕
