The Novice

Buddha monk teaching his buddha students in ancient temple ...

“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”
Meister Eckhart

Each day in nature is different.

I am in awe of its ever-present beauty and intelligence; and how it gently reminds me of my ability to open, heal and discover myself more deeply.

There is no pretending in nature; and although I don’t always like what I feel or see in me, its presence only reveals the truth and a deep awareness in me.

I am a novice in her presence each day.

And as I sit at the foot of my teacher, ‘mother nature,’

I discover the wisdom of the whole world.

KLang

‘But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do –
determined to save
the only life you could save.’

  1. Karen,
Thank you for sharing your insights.
“There is no pretending in nature; and although I don’t always like what I feel or see in me, its presence only reveals the truth and a deep awareness in me.” – I love this reflection.
    Be well.
