The Meaning of Life

The Meaning of Life is that it ends.

Franz Kafka

We are all living out stories.

Stories carried from our ancestors living inside our DNA.

Stories from our childhood.

Stories from the news and social media.

Stories we have created from our experiences in life.

Stories that continue to keep us trapped.

However, all these stories take me away from this moment.

And from understanding the deepest meaning of life.

That it will end.

So next time you feel caught up in the story, ask yourself.

‘If my life ends today, does this story matter?’

  1. I am very aware of the moments ticking by, and how I spend them and as much as I would love to be watching a sunset in a tropical place that I’ve never been, I am not and I will read the stories that catch or trigger something, while wait til bedtime and for the sleep required to go to work tomorrow. Cheers

  2. The stories sure do distract, don’t they? All fluff and flutter, they fool us into thinking that this is life, yet it is just busyness distracting us from what really is. I often ponder why this is? πŸ™‚

    1. We are born from stories and so it makes sense we continue to believe they are our truth. Questioning them is all we need to change our perspectives and behaviours in life. πŸ₯°πŸ§‘ Thanks Eliza

  3. Becoming aware of our stories and past conditioning is such an important step on this path. May we all develop insight into the reality beyond. Thank you Karen πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ’›

  4. This is a perfect read this Sunday morning ~ we are writing our own story, with input from our past and all those around us (known and unknown). And we can choose which stories we wish to reflect upon and make today and our tomorrows special. Wonderful post, Karen. Wishing you well.
