Everything is one…

“We experience ourselves, our thoughts, and feelings, as something separate from the rest.  A kind of optical delusion of consciousness.  This delusion is a kind of prison for us.  Restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.”

Albert Einstein

When the river is full, we always see two riverbanks.

We talk about each side as separate.

Sometimes we wish we were on the other side. We speak of what it might be like to live there. We imagine our life would be happier, healthier, or richer on the other side of the riverbank.

However, when the river runs dry, we realize that the separateness was an illusion. We now realize that the river bed is ‘one’ continuous stretch of sand and is part of the same beautiful ground.

I can see others in this way too. The illusion of social media, busyness, judgement, competitiveness and ego in me, is the water. Once I let go of this flowing story in my mind, I have a clear new perspective.

I can see I am a part of everything and everyone and the only separation is in my mind.

  1. Yes I totally agree with your beautiful words so well written, Karen. Everything is in the mind once I let go and embrace love, kindness and happiness then there is no separateness. We are all one. Such lovely pictures too.

    1. Yes, it’s true Mark, if we can slow down enough to see the beautiful connection we already have, maybe we can create less suffering in the future. 💕🙏🏻

  2. Well said, Karen. The duality of our thinking often drowns out the messages of the heart. For it is there we know of our connection to everything. It is there that we feel it. 💕🙏🏻
